Debuting on July 10, the World Trade Center exhibit is a perfect scale model of the New York City complex, assembled from more than 470,000 matchsticks. Standing at 17 feet tall, the wooden wonder was created by artist Patrick Acton of Gladbrook, Iowa.
Set against a graffiti-like back-drop created by the renowned New York-based art collective Tats Cru, the “Fastest Tour of New York” takes place in just 16 steps down a staircase, immersing visitors in the real sounds of the City, from the Bronx to Wall Street.
Guests can add their heads to Ripley’s prized collection of shrunken heads with the new Amazonian Makeover exhibit. Guests simply take their picture at a special kiosk, shrink their head down to the size of a human fist and accessorize with hair, bones and war paint. Images can then be sent to a phone via text or personal email address for further sharing on social media channels.
The new “Recollections” room allows guests to see their dance moves projected and repeated in a rainbow of florescent colors on an over-sized screen.

After meeting up with your local guide, we will make our way over to the River North Art District (RiNo) using a Denver-only rideshare company. RiNo is an achingly hip, up-and-coming neighborhood that boasts a serious number of creative businesses and fun start-ups, without a chain store in site.  Our first stop will be one of Denver’s newest and most popular distilleries. Serving an impressive array of flavored seasonal gins and exceptional vodka amongst other ‘spirited’ drinks, no detail is overlooked by this family-run establishment. We will enjoy the bar and terrace area (weather permitting) as we sip superb liquors made from top quality local grains and fruit. Next up it’s time to experience what Denver is famed for: its unbelievably good craft beer scene. We’ll make our way to our absolute favorite local brewery to sample a flight of beers. The large tanks inside may look ultra serious but don’t be fooled — this establishment may well be the most fun place in Denver to hang out on a summer evening and you’ll get to see why the locals love it so much.  After boozing on liquor and beer, we think it’s time to get some food into you! And not just any food will do — we are going to take you to a place that has become a magnet for foodies all over Denver, where we’ll enjoy some locally sourced gastro delights that will show you why Denver is gaining a strong reputation as a fabulous foodie hot spot.  But wait, we’re not done yet! A short walk after dinner will take us to a beloved local cidery, to try a uniquely dry style of cider. You will love the rare flavor profiles and interesting variations that this joint specialises in, so prepare to be wowed!  As we finish our rounds, you may find that you want to stay out and play and we wouldn’t blame you one bit, as RiNo is awesome! We can leave you to marinate longer and find your own way home (we’re always happy to advise on the best way to do so) or, if you decide to stick with us, we’ll drop you in an area where there’s plenty more to see, do and drink during the rest of your dynamite Denver night out. L'Hemisfèric’s projection hall has three separate systems projecting onto a curved 900sq.m screen above more than 300 patrons. There’s an Imax dome, a 3D digital screen and digital full dome projections, often of an astronomical nature. Lie back and be transported to another dimension. All these dramatic features have earned nicknames such as the Eye of Knowledge and the Planetarium.  The Principe Felipe Science Museum features a series of fascinating exhibits dedicated to themes such as climate change and human DNA. There is also a children’s area that studies aspects about natural habitats, pollution and outer space. The section on ‘magical chemistry’ is well worth checking out while there is an entire level devoted to great scientists. Sports fans will love the section devoted to the city’s most successful football club, Valencia CF, and the Marvel superheroes exhibit attracts young and old in equal measure. During the summer, from July 17 to August 31, there are special night-time shows from 8pm to midnight.

Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. An event that shook the world, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center changed the path of recent history in a way we still see every day. Visit Ground Zero to gain a deeper understanding of 9/11, the affect it had on the city (and the world!) and the long struggle undergone in New York City to move forward from that day.  With an expert local guide, you’ll explore not just the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, but the areas and landmarks around the World Trade Center that featured so poignantly in news reports after the attacks. Traveling in small groups, you’ll visit St. Paul’s Chapel, where friends and families gathered to hear news of their loved ones, and where handmade prayers and memorials still lie.  At Brookfield Place (previously known as the World Financial Center) you’ll learn about the economic effects of the attack and the struggle to rebuild afterwards. You’ll visit the Eleven Tears Memorial, a touching and personal memorial, which commemorates the 11 American Express employees that died in 9/11. The Winter Garden is another must-see on Vesey Street. You may have missed it on your own, but with a local guide leading the way, you won’t miss a beat.  After that we’ll head for Ground Zero, to see the stunning 9/11 Memorial Pools, each one built in the footprint of one of the twin towers, and inscribed with the names of all those who perished in the attack. Your guide will take this time to give you a more personal account of the tragedy that unfolded here, taking you to the Fireman’s Memorial and the Survivor Tree to tell you the incredible stories of courage and loss that unfolded right where you stand.  The last stop on our tour is one we’ll let you manage on your own. The 9/11 Museum is a very well curated space, with artifacts salvaged from the event on display, alongside countless personal stories. It’s a very moving visit, best taken in at your own pace in silence. We still have one last perk though – we’ve pre-reserved your museum tickets, so you’ll skip long lines to gain immediate access.
